Origins
Eza Watches originates from Pforzheim, a small watchmaking town in Germany often referred to as the “Gateway to the Black Forest” due to its location in the southwest of the country. The town is best known for its rich history in the jewelry and watchmaking industries, which date back more than 250 years - earning it the nickname “Goldstadt” (Gold City).
Today, traces of this once-thriving industry can still be found in Pforzheim. The town remains home to a watchmaking school and a technical museum showcasing numerous artifacts and machines from its horological past.
Watches bearing the name Eza were originally built in Pforzheim by local manufacturers. One of the most prominent among them was Hermann Becker, whose factory produced the movements found in many vintage Eza watches.
